Conferences with Elder and Sister Golden

We felt very fortunate that so quickly after meeting Elder and Sister Golden in Johannesburg we were able to welcome them to Zimbabwe and introduce them to some of our missionaries before joining them for a District Conference in Mutare.

The Zimbabwe mission warriors - President Coleman from Bulawayo and President Judd from Harare

We picked up Elder and Sister Golden in KweKwe and drove back to Harare. They had spent several days on a mission tour with President and Sister Coleman in the Zimbabwe Bulawayo Mission.

Covid restrictions prevented everyone from gathering, but one of our senior missionaries, Sister Whitlock and the mission leaders who live close by were able attend in person.

Before meeting with all of the missionaries, Elder and Sister Golden asked and answered questions with our MLC.

After a mission-wide conference via zoom, we jumped in the car to drive to Mutare.

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute with Elder and Sister Golden. They will be released next year, and graciously shared decades and decades of wisdom, counsel and experience with us. They offered support, confidence and sage advice with a healthy dash of humor.

As we waved good-bye to them and watched them walk into the airport on Sunday evening, we realized they would return home to the area office, tend to business, do the laundry, repack and start all over again the next week-end. Exhausting, consecrated, holy work. They really are GOLDEN.
