The same, but different.
We love Zone Conferences.
Missionaries are prayerfully placed with their companion in a district. One or two or three districts make up a zone.
Once every transfer cycle we travel to meet with each zone individually, to learn together in a smaller, more personal environment. Together we teach each other, we role play, we ask and answer, we sing, we eat, we pray.
We have found that each zone is unique and different from each other, not unlike our kids. They have a variety of individual strengths and challenges which offer personalized opportunities for revelation and instruction.
I am convinced that God knows every zone. Because the revelation that comes in the moment concerning what to teach is as wide-ranging as each zone is. Gary and I often marvel at how our messages seem to work together, even though we don't know going into the meeting exactly what we're going to say. It's simply a sweet and holy reminder that if we are open and willing, the Holy Ghost will comfort, teach and strengthen every missionary. It's a tender blessing to witness.
